Version 2026-10-draft · TOMITA CO., LTD.

Draft. This policy is awaiting confirmation by Tomita of its legal details, including whether our Canada office should be named as a separate contact. It describes how the website works today.

Who we are

TOMITA CO., LTD. (“Tomita”, “we”), Kyobashi Edogrand 1F, 2-2-1 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0031, Japan, is responsible for the personal information described here. For anything about your information, write to [email protected].

What we collect

  • Your account, if you create one: your email address, and the name, company, profession, phone number, country and delivery address you choose to give us; the date you agreed to this policy.
  • What you save: your favourite designs and your project boards, with any notes you add.
  • Sample requests: your contact details, delivery address, the samples or sample books you ask for, and any project details you share.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form.
  • News sign-up: your email address and the date, if you ask to hear about new collections and sample books.
  • Technical information needed to keep the site secure: sign-in records, and the signals Google reCAPTCHA uses to tell people from automated spam.

We do not show or store prices or quotes on the website, and we do not ask for payment details.

Why we use it

  • To run your account, keep your favourites and boards, and fill in sample requests for you.
  • To prepare and ship samples, lend sample books, and show you their progress and tracking.
  • To answer your messages, and to follow up with you about the projects you tell us about.
  • To protect the site and our team from spam and misuse.

We do not sell your information. We send news of new collections and sample books only to people who sign up for it, and you can stop at any time by replying to any of those emails or writing to [email protected].

Who can see it

Members of Tomita’s team who handle samples and enquiries, in Japan and in Canada, can see your account, favourites, boards, sample requests and messages, so that they can help you. Other customers can never see your information.

We use these services to run the website, and they process information on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase (sign-in and our database), with data stored in the United States.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, to prevent spam. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
  • Web3Forms, which emails new sample requests and messages to our team.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the website and may count visits without using cookies.
  • Google Workspace or Gmail, which our team uses to reply to you.

Because of this, your information may be stored in or accessed from countries other than your own, including the United States, Japan and Canada.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, favourites and boards: until you delete your account.
  • Sample requests and messages: for 36 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
  • News sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
  • When you ask us to delete your information, we keep a short record of the request (your email address and the dates) to show that it was carried out.

Your choices and rights

You can see and correct your details on your account page at any time. You can delete your account there with Delete my account: your details, favourites and boards are removed straight away, and we then erase the sample requests and messages kept under your email.

You can also write to [email protected] to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, whether or not you have an account. We will reply within 30 days. Ask us to delete your information. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the data protection authority where you live.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and the website sets no cookies of its own.

  • Your browser’s storage keeps, for this website only, your sample selection and, if you sign in, a note that you are signed in (kept by Google Firebase), so that pages can show them. Clearing your browser’s data for this site removes them.
  • Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookie when you use a form or sign in, to tell people from automated spam. The forms need it to work safely.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and the pages viewed without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Typefaces are served from our own website, so no font service sees your visit.

Because nothing on the website needs your permission to be stored, there is no cookie banner.

Children

The website is for people choosing wallcoverings for homes and projects. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and its version, and ask account holders to agree again where needed.
