Asanoha, the hemp leaf, is a motif cherished in Japan since ancient times. Thin slices of kiri are laid one by one, and the changing direction of the grain gives the pattern a three-dimensional effect.

Samples and delivery
As a rule we send up to ten cut samples per request. If you need more, please ask.
In Japan, cut samples normally arrive within three to four days. Delivery to Canada takes longer, and we will confirm the timing when we reply.
Samples are free. You can also borrow a sample book for ten days, and cover the shipping one way.
Pricing and enquiries
Many of our wallcoverings are made to order, and custom colours are possible for some designs. For pricing, lead times or a project, please write or call. Our team in Tokyo or Canada will reply by email, usually within two working days.
Paulownia, sliced thin and laid by hand, so that the grain itself draws the pattern.
Kiri has a curious property: depending on the direction of the grain, the same wood reads light or dark.
Because every sheet is real wood, colour and grain vary from lot to lot. That variation is the character of the material, not a flaw in it.
