Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to explore our collections, request samples and contact us, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we have done
- Keyboard: every link, button and form field can be reached with the Tab key and shows a clear orange outline when it has focus. The first Tab on any page offers Skip to content, to go straight past the menu.
- Screen readers: every page is marked up with headings and a main content area, every photograph of a design comes with the design’s name, and every form field has a label, with any error explained in words beside the field.
- Reading: text on our main pages meets the WCAG contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
- Motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the photographs and sections appear without animation.
- Testing: we check our main pages with automated accessibility tests and by using them with the keyboard alone.
What we are still working on
- Some photographs of rooms are decorative and are skipped by screen readers; where a room shows a particular design, the design is named in the text beside it.
- The before-and-after comparison on the home page is shown on computers only; the same rooms can be seen on the Customize your space page on any device.
- Our catalogues are image-based. If you need a design’s details in another format, we will send them to you.
Tell us if something does not work
